The Keweenaw Bay Indian Community (KBIC) General Election results were officially certified this past weekend, bringing two new council members to the table along with two incumbents and an incumbent Judge and also saying goodbye to long-time councilman and President Warren “Chris” Swartz along with council member Dale Goodreau. Election Board Chair Diana Chaudier was on hand at the Jan. 8, 2022 meeting to give the official results of the election to the council. After the council approved the results, Treasurer Doreen Blaker recognized Swartz and Goodreau for their service with a statement and parting gifts before swearing in newly elected council members.
