BRINGS SUIT–Baraga County pig farmer Roger Turunen has launched a lawsuit against the Department of Natural Resources, his attorney Joseph O’Leary said. O’Leary noted it was a nine-year fight when the DNR tried to declare Turunen’s pigs an invasive species. Turunen won the case in 2019 and the appeal in 2021. O’Leary said Turunen is suing in the Michigan Court of Claims for damages “for everything (the DNR) put him through in nine years.”
