Hospital again offers surgeries, procedures; COVID precautions cost $2 million since March

COVID TESTING—BCMH’s lab staff can test for COVID-19 and anti-bodies. As of last week 224 tests had been conducted. Results are available in about 45 minutes. Lab staff includes, l-r, Susan Copley, Jennie Haataja, Holly Barnett, Tristan Leaf, Maddy Clisch, Amanda Furr and Katelyn Nauh. With the return of many procedures and elective surgeries the lab staff is also handling routine blood work, etc.

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is slowly resuming normal operations, but “normal” is nothing like it was prior to Coronavirus. An abundance of caution is in place to protect staff, patients and the community. Baraga County has recorded only one COVID-19 case, now considered recovered. That person was not treated at BCMH.
