Community dedicates new football field

“Who would have thunk?” Longtime L’Anse football coach Jerry Bugni issued that sentiment before a crowd gathered at the new L’Anse High School’s “Volunteer Field” dedication Monday, Aug. 25, 2014. Part of the L’Anse Sports Complex, a push was made to allow the Hornet football teams to play a the new facility this fall. However, the overall project began back in 2007 after the Linden Creek flooded its banks leaving the teams’ Mewadowbrook Field unusable.
